The olive tree is inextricably linked to thousands of years of history of the citizens of the Mediterranean, with the Greeks being the first to cultivate it. It constitutes a symbol of life struggles, prosperity, peace, fertility and euphoria and a gift of nature present in each and every cycle of life.

The very first olive tree was planted on the Acropolis by the Goddess Athena. From then onwards, it was declared as the Holy Tree of Athens. The olive tree was essential for diet and nutrition, lighting, heating as well as the health and grooming of the Athenians. In Greek mythology, Omiros referred to it as the"liquid gold".

The presence of the olive tree in Greece dates back to the Neolithic era and is depicted onLinear B tablets found in the palaces of Knossos, Pylos and Mycenae which testify the economic significance the olive tree had during the 13th and 14th century B.C.

The natural juice from the olive, with its ideal composition and wonderful aroma of fresh olive and fruity flavor, purely extracted, grants health and longevity. Hippocrates recommended olive oil as an "iama", meaning medicine.
